Running low on battery before a trip? Waggle RapidCharge is designed to get your Waggle Pet Monitor charged up faster than normal. But it works a little differently from regular charging — here's what you need to know before you use it.
What Waggle RapidCharge does
RapidCharge charges your monitor at a higher rate. The full RapidCharge cycle works like this:
- ~1 hour of active charging
- Followed by 45 minutes of Cooling Time
- Total cycle: approximately 2 hours
The Cooling Time is not optional — the device needs it after the faster charge. This happens automatically. You don't need to do anything during this phase.
What happens to monitoring during RapidCharge
This is the most important thing to understand: your pet monitor is not actively monitoring during a RapidCharge cycle.
Temperature and humidity alerts are paused for 2 hours. This pause occurs during charging and Cooling Time. Monitoring resumes automatically after Cooling Time ends.
If your pet is home and you need alerts running, use normal charging instead.
What happens if you unplug early
Unplugging the device before the cycle finishes does not skip or shorten the Cooling Time. The 45-minute Cooling Time will still run its course regardless.
How to activate RapidCharge
When you plug in your monitor, you'll see a prompt to choose RapidCharge.
You have 10 seconds to select it. If no button is pressed within that window, the monitor automatically switches to normal charging mode.
What to do if you missed the RapidCharge prompt
If normal charging has already started and you want to switch to RapidCharge:
- Unplug the device.
- Wait a full 1 minute.
- Plug it back in.
- Select RapidCharge from the prompt within 10 seconds.
When to use RapidCharge vs normal charging
| RapidCharge | Normal Charging | |
| Faster charge | Yes | No |
| Monitoring active | No — paused for ~2 hours | Yes |
| Best for | Before a trip, when your pet isn't home | Routine, overnight, everyday use |
| Cooling Time required | Yes — 45 minutes | No |
Good to know
- RapidCharge is best used when you're about to leave and need a quick top-up — not while your pet is actively being monitored.
- Normal charging is better for everyday use and long-term battery health.
- The Cooling Time is built into the device to protect the battery — it cannot be skipped.
