The subscription powers the built-in 4G SIM card, enabling unlimited live streaming and real-time alerts without any Wi-Fi. Without a plan, the camera can still record locally to the SD card — but you won't receive alerts or be able to watch live video remotely.

No — and that's intentional. Smart event-based recording is what gives the camera its 90-day battery life. It records when motion or humans are detected, saving battery and making it easy to find relevant footage fast.
In areas with no cellular coverage, the camera will continue recording to the local SD card. Alerts and live view require an active 4G connection — but your footage is never lost.
